Welcome Back Bloomers!
It’s been a while since I have shared a breakfast or snack post with you all so it was long overdue for this. How many of you have heard of Pitaya? No worries if you have not, I am here to share some amazing health benefits that will blow your mind.
As many of you may know I am a true lover of fruit. I mean fruit is my favorite snack and I can honestly eat it all day. I remember when my husband and I started dating and he would come over to my apartment and ask where the snacks. Needless to say I would have an entire fridge and cabinet full of FRUIT. The audacity of him right? haha Remember heathy eating is a lifestyle! Even our pup Stella enjoys blueberries now.
Pitaya is also known as dragon fruit. It is grown all over the world however it‘s home is Central and South America. Pitaya is essentially the original derived name from Central America and once the fruit made its way across the world it adopted the name Dragon Fruit. Some are white in the inside while others have a pink/red hue. They have a kiwi texture inside.
Some of the many health benefits include but are not limited to:
•Rich in magnesium which helps increase energy and assists with regulating sodium and calcium levels. Also, pitaya is proven to help with relieving muscle aches, nerves, and anxiety. This essentially leads to a better night sleep and muscle recovery.
•They are high in fiber which reduces risk of heart disease, lower cholesterol levels, and aiding in healthy weight management.
•Great source of iron
•Rich in antioxidants
•Great source of Vitamin C aiding in protection for your immune system. This produces a radiant glow and aids in acne prone skin creating a fresh and rejuvenated look and feel.
So are you convinced on adding this to your diet yet? I thought you would be. I eat either a bowl or smoothie at least once a week. This week I created a delicious protein bowl that I will be sharing with you all.
