Welcome Back Bloomers!
For the past week and a half Marcus and I have been dealing with a faucet leak in our kitchen. The leak required us to have our water turned off in the kitchen so you can only imagine how inconvenient that has been.
A lot of people glorify having a home, but they don’t always tell you about the added expenses like this. I must admit we were shockingly surprised at how expensive it is to hire Plumber. In addition to the fact that we’ve only lived here for only three years and needed to get a replacement. Growing up I could hardly remember when items around the home broke requiring us to hire a plumber. I went ahead and started my search for Plumbers in the area. I thought finding someone would have been pretty easy however I called multiple places and had to leave voicemails. Some of which never called back or contacted me days later.
One company we reached out to charged us $149 just to come out and diagnosis the problem. This also was a discount from their $170 by signing up for their annual plan😱 This also did not include a repair. In total, it would have cost $628 if we would have purchased a faucet with them. My eyes almost popped out my head when I saw that price. As we felt this was pretty excessive we began our search again for a second opinion.
After realizing how insanely costly this was a coworker reminded me of the Nextdoor app. I completely forgot about this app and immediately made a post asking for recommendations. I was able to get numerous recommendations and found a highly rated local plumber. He was able to come out to give us a diagnosis free of charge. He instructed us that we needed to purchase a new faucet. I then went to our local Home Depot and found a beautiful matte gold faucet. Shockingly it matched perfectly with our matte gold drawer pulls in our white kitchen. Casanova was able to repair it the same day. Huge thanks to Casanova Plumbing. This faucet was a STEAL. I purchased for under $150 and an added feature of a soap dispenser I have wanted for some time. Unbelievable!
Isn’t she lovely?!
