I always look forward to resetting our home from Winter decor to Spring. Spring is my favorite season. I immediately get into the Spring cleaning mood. I made sure to start early this year.
Our entryway has come a long way y’all. I have finally found the perfect pieces to create a cozy and tranquil space. Too curate this look I shopped at some of my favorite home decor retailers: Target, Amazon, Homegoods, and The Container Store. Adding greenery to our home was something new for us and it has made a tremendous difference in the feel and aesthetic of our sanctuary. Did you know that greenery adds freshness to your space and has been proven to create a more relaxing environment?
We chose blue as our pop of color as the color brings in serenity and calmness. I made sure to pick a color pallet I wanted to stick with for this reset. I have fallen in love with naturals and neutrals lately but I can not forget about our beautiful metallic accents by incorporating gold. Before I purchased our console and artwork I made sure I measured our space and mapped out the proper spot to place everything. I have learned that one of the easiest ways to do this is to use blue mapping tape.
Having some form of storage is a must. It keeps the clutter to a minimum and creates a soft and clean look. It also helps keep some of those not so attractive items hidden. Your baskets can be as stylish or simple as you would like. I recommend having multiple different sizes because it creates dimension and movement. This is also a great way to add in different textures.
Decorating your home is a form of art. It allows you to express yourself. Art has the power to uplift you, encourage you, and add character to our space. This is why it is important to only buy artwork that speaks to you. Consider how you feel when you look at the piece of art. Do you feel touched and seen or does it make you moody and sad. Artwork can also make your face feel open. Purchasing a piece of art should be considered an investment as it can create focal point for your space and set the tone of your color palette. If you have a small entryway as we do artwork is a great way to create a focal point. For us we opted for something that had blues and champagne accent which can be found throughout our home. We also wanted artwork that would be calming but luxurious at the same time.
Lastly, you can add personal details such as frames or memorabilia. We chose not to add frames to our entryway console as we have a gallery wall across from the artwork. As we have huge white walls the best thing to fill up the space was a gallery wall of our favorite moments we share. Our photos include celebrating special occasions and accomplishments, vacations, and moments with family and friends. I call this our memory wall. I loved the option of creating a gallery wall because you can mix and match frames and have a variety of sizes or for a clean look all the same size frames.
I have put together five tips that helped me bring my vision of our entryway to life. These tips helped me create a calm and welcoming space in our hallway and I wish they do the same for you.
